BTS: Both & Neither

So happy to be in Mexico and making a film about women climbing and cultural identity! :D

Looking for the shot with my handsome assistant.
(We're married so it's ok for me to say that and it not be weird.)

Assistant falls asleep on the job.

I wanted to be pulled out a bit from the wall to be able to see more of the climbing movement, so I rigged the fixed line to a tree at the bottom and tightened it.
Stabilizing a camera while shooting on a rope is always a challenge, but this setup makes it even harder.

"Eat choss, s*** bolts!" Found on a truck in La Ciénega de González.
I love how bumper stickers like this are a universal language for climbers from all over the world!

A sunrise shoot with Natalie Connell painting the fast-changing light on the massive limestone walls of El Salto.

La Huasteca, another impressive climbing area in Mexico, as seen from the back of a pickup truck.
We didn't climb here, but it's known as a very spiritual place to the local residents, so we toured through a few of the canyons and shot some sweet b-roll.

The mayor of El Salto, Joel Guadarrama, and my ne'er-do-well assistant celebrating the wrap of a fun shoot in Mexico!
(BTW, there's nothing between his fingers in case you were wondering.)
